Dear Friends,

The 2018 Illinois gubernatorial primary election is fast approaching and will take place on March 20th. Please remember to NOT vote for pro-abort Governor Bruce Rauner. I don't care how much the Republican establishment in Illinois throws at you in order to secure this wicked man's re-election, please stand firm in your resolve to not allow a prenatal baby killer (or one who supports it) to serve as governor of our state. Just say "no" to fear and "yes" to faith in Christ by voting for a godly candidate.

Governor Bruce Rauner will sign House Bill 40, mandating state taxpayer funding of abortion, sources tell Prairie State Wire.

Rauner revealed his decision during a staff conference call this morning.

In signing the bill, Rauner will become America’s first governor to initiate taxpayer funding of abortions.

Today, Medicaid recipients can receive abortions in cases of rape, incest, health and life of the mother.

The measure expands that. It means Illinoisans on Medicaid as well as state employees will receive free abortions for any reason, up until the last day of their pregnancy.

'Once again Governor Rauner disappoints! '

Dear Friends,

Once again Governor Rauner disappoints! On Good Friday his office announced that he would veto HB 40, which publicly funds abortions, adds abortion to the Illinois insurance plan for employees, and keeps abortion until live birth the law of the land in Illinois even if Roe v. Wade is overturned!

This is a drastic change to longstanding Illinois policy! For years Illinois has not paid for abortions through tax-payer funding except for the life of the mother. Illinois citizens have never had to pay for abortions through the state employee health care plans. Surveys clearly show that 70-80% of Illinois citizens do not belief taxpayers should fund abortions. This legislation will require Illinois taxpayers somewhere around $20 million to pay to end the lives of thousands of innocent unborn children.

By signing HB 40, Governor Rauner has gone completely against the Illinois Republican Party platform. Please continue to pray for Illinois, our governor, our legislators. Our solid pro-life and pro-family legislators are under great pressure.

Baptists lament Ill. governor's reversal on abortion

WASHINGTON (BP) -- Southern Baptist leaders reacted with deep disappointment to Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner's change of mind in support of groundbreaking abortion-funding legislation.

Rauner, a Republican, signed into law Sept. 28 a bill that requires taxpayers to fund abortions for low-income women through the state's Medicaid program, even though he had said in April he opposed it. The new law also provides abortion funding for women covered by state employee insurance.

In signing the legislation, Rauner also apparently established a precedent in state funding of abortion. Illinois becomes the first state in which the legislature and governor have acted to approve Medicaid funds for abortion, according to pro-life researcher Michael J. New. Previously, New reported, Medicaid funds for abortion were legal in 15 states -- 11 by judicial decision and four by health department action.

I pray you will forgive the citizens of Illinois for electing a pro-abort governor. Please forgive us for voting pragmatism instead of our pro-life conviction. Help us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves while standing for righteousness. I also pray You will forgive our governor, lead him to repentance and give him a new heart.
