"The FACE Act is an unjust, unconstitutional federal law which should be repealed by passing the FACE Act repeal legislation," Lefemine wrote via email. "Every Republican member of the South Carolina congressional delegation should be called upon to co-sponsor this legislation."
COLUMBIA — A leading anti-abortion activist convicted of blockading a Columbia abortion clinic was not among those pardoned by President Donald Trump.

Steven Lefemine, a West Columbia man, wrote he chose not to apply for a pardon because he wanted to continue his appeal of his "unjust" conviction and did not want to admit guilt.

"There is a debate regarding whether a pardon is an admission of guilt in the public arena," Lefemine wrote The Post and Courier via email. "By not accepting a pardon, it is inarguable that I am not admitting guilt."

Lefemine was sentenced to 60 days in prison and fined $1,000 after being found guilty of a misdemeanor for violating the Freedom to Access Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act last year.
