Four Generations of Pro-life Sidewalk Counselors — Now THAT’S a Legacy

Posted at The Writing on the Wall: My name is Analise. I come from a large family also known as the Metzger Nation. I am the oldest of soon to be thirteen kiddos. We adopted two of my brothers from Missouri, my daddy was adopted when he was a baby, and I myself was adopted from Kazakhstan at 10. I know for a fact that I have the best crazy family on this planet! My parents got involved in pro life ministry in 2008 I believe. We were not familiar with sidewalk counseling or sidewalk ministry, but my mom was. She grew up doing this very same thing as a young teenager with her family. My mom explained what abortion was in age-appropriate language so we all understood why we would go there. There were a few other families that would come out and minister with us and we would go out once a week at the most but sometimes we would go on Saturdays as well. The clinic had very little coverage or no coverage at all from sidewalk counselors. After we got involved with sidewalk counseling,

Illinois: Pro-Life Rally Shuts Down Capitol

From Rev. Bob Vanden Bosch of Concerned Christian Ministries: Rally Shuts Down Capitol!!! Attacks on Pastors and Churches! Dear Friends, A Secretary of Police Officer I talked to said that they estimated a crowd of over 4,000 people. Most of the legislators I talked to were very impressed and very encouraged at the large turnout. A number of friends of mine from northern Illinois could not get into the capitol because of the crowds. (The Secretary of Police stopped people from coming in because of the crowd size.) When you come to the Capitol to lobby, I would urge you to be considerate and kind to EVERYONE!!! Most legislators had glowing statements about the crowd, although one (who was already with us on the votes) felt somewhat threatened by some of those who spoke to him. I would urge you to remember the grace and mercy God has showed to you as a sinner--and treat other sinners with grace and mercy as well!!! SB 1594, Repealing Parental Notification of Abortion,

Every Little Life Matters

By Pastor Scott Lee - Posted at Sermon Audio : Description: Because every human being at every stage of life bears the image of God, every human being at every stage of life has value and is worthy of protection and care. We must see the value of each person and work to protect the lives of all.

Roswell, New Mexico Passes Resolution Declaring Human Life is ‘Precious to God’ and ‘Must Always Be Protected’

By Heather Clark - Posted at Christian News Network: ROSWELL, N.M. — The city of Roswell, New Mexico has passed a resolution declaring that life begins at conception, and that human life “is unique and precious to God” and “must always be protected.” According to the Roswell Daily Record , Resolution 19-28, “A Resolution in Support of the Unborn,” passed in a seven to one vote, with one council member abstaining. “Whereas, each and every innocent human life is unique and precious to God; and … human life begins at the moment of conception and continues, uninterrupted, until the moment of natural death,” the resolution reads. “Whereas, innocent human life must always be protected and preserved; and … the protection of all human life is important to the people of the City of Roswell …” It notes that life is the first right declared in the Declaration of Independence, and that the American College of Pediatricians noted in a 2017 abstract, “The predominance of human biological

A chance to live

By Clara Molina - Posted at Baptist Press: FORT WORTH, Texas (BP) -- As I walked into the crisis pregnancy center where I volunteered for the first time, I could feel the presence of God guiding me to serve there. The psalmist's declaration in God's Word was on my mind and still is today: "For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well" ( Psalm 139:13-14 ). I was not aware of the impact that volunteering at a crisis pregnancy center would have on my life as a Christian. God used these verses to lead me to pray for the women in crisis; He gave me an urgency to share the Gospel with them; and He gave me an unmeasurable love for the unborn. The experience of helping women who were trying to problem-solve without considering God's will, God's Word and possible post-abortion consequences has changed

Rita’s Story – There Is Always Hope!

Posted at Word of Hope: My Way When I was a high school senior, I started dating a college student. I was intrigued by his ability to “do his own thing.” It wasn’t long before I gave in to my own rebelliousness. As our relationship grew, there were things we did that were not right, but the thrill of the moment seemed worth the risk. I liked my new-found freedom. I believed I was doing all the things I really wanted to do. Our wedding appeared to be one of joy. Yes, I loved this man, but, at the same time, I was filled with doubts. I knew I was getting married because it was the “right” thing to do. I had committed myself to this man in the most intimate sense, and now there was only one choice – to marry the man I had given myself to. There was no going back. If only I’d known then what I know now. God is a God of love. There is no sin too big for Him to forgive. But, I couldn’t see the truth. And so I found myself continuing to detour from my childhood dreams. My husband a

Update on Abortion Bills in Illinois

From Rev. Bob Vanden Bosch, Concerned Christian Ministries Abortion Bills Remain In Committees Dear Friends, Please pray for State Representative Tom Bennett (R-Gibson City), who was involved in a serious auto accident yesterday resulting in 10 broken ribs--6 of them in multiple places. HB 2467 , the bill to overturn Parental Notification of Abortion, and HB 2495, the Reproductive Health Bill both have been put into the Informed Consent Subcommittee of the Illinois House Human Services Committee. HB 2467 will remove all parental involvement in a minor daughter's abortion. This is a serious health issue. Right now, minor girls must have parental involvement of receiving aspirin at school or to get their ears pierced. A minor who has an abortion could die from complications if her parents are not aware of what is happening. HB 2495 is a draconian bill that removes all restrictions on late-term abortions for any reason, removes all licensing requirement

Would-be father whose unborn baby was aborted can sue clinic, Alabama judge says

By Leonardo Blair - Posted at The Christian Post: Ryan Magers, a would-be father whose girlfriend aborted their 6-week-old unborn baby two years ago, was granted permission to sue the clinic that provided the abortion after an Alabama probate judge recognized the fetus as a person with legal rights. Magers’ attorney, Brent Helms, told news station WAAY 31 that the recognition of the unborn child as a person with legal rights, is the first decision of its kind in the nation. Probate Judge Frank Barger signed off on a letter of petition allowing Magers to represent Baby Roe’s estate, WHNT 19 said . “We have already had a victory, and it was the first one of its kind, ever," Helms told WAAY 31. "This is the first estate that I'm aware of that has ever been opened for an aborted baby.” Continue reading here.  See also: Madison County man is suing Huntsville women’s clinic on behalf of unborn fetus  (WHNT News)

A short history of babies born alive during an abortion

By Napp Nazworth - Posted at The Christian Post : The U.S. Senate failed last month to pass the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. To understand why this bill was deemed necessary, look at the history behind it. Jesse Floyd In the 1977 case of Floyd v. Anders , an abortionist, Dr. Jesse Floyd, was tried for murdering a baby. He "botched" the abortion, meaning his attempt to kill the fetus failed and instead resulted in a live baby who survived for 20 days then died due to his induced pre-mature birth. The case presented an interesting question for the courts. The U.S. Supreme Court made abortion legal in 1973 based upon a "right to privacy" for the mother. But if an abortion fails to result in a dead fetus and instead results in a baby born alive, now outside its mother, does the mother's "right to privacy" still have any bearing on the life of the child? In other words, does the right to an abortion end when the baby has fully exite

Should Christians Support Heartbeat Bills?

By Jason Storms, the Assistant Director of Operation Save America Heartbeat bills are springing up across the country. How should Christians respond? Please take the time to read this is excellent challenge and critique. - Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas Heartbeat bills have been springing up all over the country and are being celebrated by pro-lifers. I appreciate the intentions of those who are promoting these, BUT - here are six quick problems with these bills: 1) The bills will be struck down by a Federal judge. Without the will to enforce these bills and defy a lawless judiciary it is an effort in futility. Pro-life groups will still raise money, knowing the bill is going nowhere and not going to save a single life. 2) Pro-abortion Republicans can support such a bill and get a pro-life endorsement, knowing full well the bill will never actually be implemented. This makes it more difficult to get such pro-abortion Republicans out of office as they now have a "strong pr

Murder by Any Other Name: Introducing Fourth-Term Abortion

By Greg Morse - Posted at Desiring God : How does one group of people murder another and sleep at night? Answer: they don’t. German soldiers didn’t slaughter humans, Southern whites didn’t lynch humans, and Planned Parenthood isn’t killing humans either. The infectious pathos, rising from the pit of hell and blackening the darkest periods in human history, is an idea, an idea that a hierarchy of human and subhuman exists. Men who kill men in cold blood lose sleep; men who kill beasts don’t. In Germany, they called the subhuman creatures the Untermenschen . The German propaganda Der Untermensch (thought to be edited by Hitler’s right-hand man, Heinrich Himmler), manifested the serpent’s whisper this way: The subhuman is a biological creature, crafted by nature, which has hands, legs, eyes, and mouth, even the semblance of a brain. Nevertheless, this terrible creature is only a partial human being. Although it has features similar to a human, the subhuman is lower on the s

Illinois Considers Another Terrifying Law Allowing Infanticide

By Elizabeth Bauer - Posted at The Federalist: Illinois is climbing on the infanticide bandwagon with a bill that removes any limits on abortion. It is sponsored by one-third of the state House. This bill is terrifying in its scope. On January 22, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed into law a measure permitting abortion up to the gestational age of 24 weeks for any reason, and after that point, if “necessary to protect the patient’s life or health,” that is, broadening its prior “life of the mother” law to one based on the broad Doe v. Bolton definition as overall well-being. On February 21, the Vermont House passed a measure that “would legalize abortion at any stage of pregnancy and for any reason,” as described by Alexandra DeSanctis at National Review . The House sent it to the state’s Senate. Then Illinois climbed on the bandwagon with a bill that removes any limits on abortion, HB 2495, the Reproductive Health Act . As of February 28, it had 42 sponsors, out of a tota
