LiveAction: 'The 2023 federal budget includes $2 million to renovate Planned Parenthood facility'

By Leslie Wolfgang Published December 28, 2022 According to the Daily Caller , as part of the 2023 federal funding package , the Planned Parenthood Mar Monte Community Clinic facility in San Jose, California will receive $2 million to relocate and renovate its facility. Planned Parenthood Mar Monte (PPMM) is the largest Planned Parenthood affiliate in the U.S., overseeing 35 facilities and committing tens of thousands of abortions. It was at the center of an undercover investigation into Planned Parenthood’s trafficking in aborted body parts. Citing a press release from Open the Books, the Daily Caller reports that as the December 23 deadline to approve a federal budget loomed, California Representative Zoe Lofgren , a 13-term congresswoman who represents California’s 19th District, secured the $2 million funding for the Planned Parenthood facility, which will be given in two $1 million payouts. PPMM provides gender-affirming hormone therapy for children as young as 16, as well as

UK 'Thought Police' Arrest Pro-Life Advocate for Silently Praying Near Abortion Clinic

By Steve Warren - Posted at CBN News: A charity volunteer in the United Kingdom was arrested after she told the police she "might" be praying silently when questioned as to why she was standing on a public street near an abortion facility. And she's not the first person to be arrested in the UK in recent months for praying in their head. The Alliance Defending Freedom UK , a faith-based legal advocacy organization, reports police officers approached Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, the director of UK March for Life , who was standing near the BPAS Robert Clinic in Kings Norton, an area of Birmingham, England. Vaughan-Spruce was carrying no sign and remained completely silent until approached by the officers. The police had received complaints from an onlooker who suspected that Vaughan-Spruce was praying silently in her mind in an area described by the ADF UK as a "censorship zone." Continue here... Protestors disrupt pro-life banquet with obscene outbursts

By Diana Chandler - Posted at Baptist Press: Published December 2, 2022 ARLINGTON, Va. (BP) – A crisis pregnancy care center in Washington is reconsidering its admission policy after a group who registered as church members erupted in profanity-laced outbursts at a fundraising dinner Dec. 1. “These people that were there actually signed up to come,” Janet Durig, executive director of the Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center, told Baptist Press. “They actually registered and we had them seated at a table. This young man emailed and registered, told me which church he goes to, and he registered three young women to come with him. And we seated them at a table that had half a table.” A handful of protestors, including those at the table mentioned above, arose individually at the event at various times when she was at the podium, Durig said, and yelled profane statements accusing the center of mistreating women and other misdeeds. Protestants and Abortion

By Collin Pruett - Posted at American Reformer: On taking the political initiative The Supreme Court, like a place-kicker in football, serves a function in public life that Americans ignore until, in the most crucial of situations, its performance makes or breaks outcomes. The Courts of the 1960s and 1970s certainly scored wins for the left. In an unprecedented series of legal assaults against the ramparts of the American Constitutional tradition, the Court eradicated “ Almighty God ” from education with Engel v. Vitale , conjured up a vague right to privacy with Griswold v. Connecticut , and legalized abortion with Roe v. Wade . These headliners, combined with a broader left-wing legal and legislative blitz, ripped down the cultural scaffolding of the United States. Conservatives of the era rightly perceived that the Court would not only alter the Constitutional order, but also the trajectory of our civilization. Looking back, it’s hard to dispute that the alarm was unjustified. Birt

Pro-life efforts on ballot initiatives fail in at least 4 states

By Tom Strode - Posted at Baptist Press: NASHVILLE (BP) – Pro-life advocates appeared poised to suffer across-the-board losses on five state ballot initiatives voted on Tuesday (Nov. 8) in the first nationwide election since the reversal of the Roe v. Wade decision. The failure to gain passage of a pro-life measure in Kentucky or to defeat constitutional amendments that guarantee abortion rights in California, Michigan and Vermont dealt a troubling setback to Southern Baptists and other Americans who welcomed the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in June. In addition, the vote totals reported in Montana by midday Wednesday (Nov. 9) seemed to indicate a pro-life proposal would fall short of passage. By overturning Roe, the high court had returned regulation of abortion to the states and brought an end to a legal regime throughout the country that resulted in the deaths of an estimated 63 million-plus preborn children since 1973. Abortion-rights advocates have now prevailed in at least five s

From abortion nurse to abortion pill reversal nurse - She knows the reality of the abortion industry

By Christa Brown - Posted at Pregnancy Help News: And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony - Revelation 12:11 This is the Word that Lisa lives by. Lisa has seen both sides of Big Abortion and now she is moved to save lives every single day. From a young age Lisa wanted to help women and she knew this would be through a nursing career. When she saw an advertisement for a position in a women’s clinic, she believed this was her opportunity to fulfill that dream. Sadly, this began her nine-year employment in the abortion clinics. Believing she was offering needed healthcare, Lisa assisted with surgical abortions for four years until the abortion pill became available. Lisa was then assigned to help patients starting chemical abortion and was even given a cell phone to take after-hour calls. For five more years she helped women start their abortions with a pill in the clinic and then complete their abortions at home. Continue here...

Biden pledges to make abortion rights No. 1 priority in Congress

By Tom Strode - Posted at Baptist Press: WASHINGTON (BP) – Pro-life leaders expressed their strong objection to President Biden’s promise Tuesday (Oct. 18) to make enshrining Roe v. Wade in law his legislative priority if Democrats control Congress in January. If voters elect more Democrats to the U.S. Senate and keep his party in the majority in the House of Representatives, the “first bill” he will send to Congress will be “to codify Roe v. Wade,” Biden said in a speech dedicated to the abortion issue. If Congress approves the legislation, the president said he will sign it into law in January, 50 years after the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe ruling legalized abortion nationwide. Biden’s pledge is the latest evidence of the devotion of his administration and party to protect expansive abortion rights, especially in the wake of the high court’s June opinion that overruled Roe and returned abortion regulation to the states. South Carolina Supreme Court takes up 2021 ban on abortions 'after cardiac activity is detected'

South Carolina Supreme Court takes up state's abortion ban By JAMES POLLARD (Associated Press/Report for America) - Posted at WRAL News: Published October 19. 2022 COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina Supreme Court justices grilled lawyers over the extent of the right to privacy in a case Wednesday that could determine the scope of the state's abortion restrictions. The hearing marked the latest legal challenge to South Carolina's 2021 ban on abortions after cardiac activity is detected, typically around six weeks, with exceptions for pregnancies caused by rape or incest, or those that endanger the patient's life. The law — previously suspended by federal courts — took effect shortly after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. The state's high court temporarily blocked it in August as the justices considered this case. Continue here... 87-year-old concentration camp survivor is one of 11 pro-lifers recently arrested by FBI

By Nancy Flanders - Posted at LiveAction: Pro-life activist Eva Edl was one of four pro-lifers charged with violating the FACE (Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances) this month in relation to a March 2021 abortion facility rescue at Carafem in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. The event was aimed at reaching abortion-minded women in hopes of helping them to choose life for their babies with confidence. Edl is 87 years old and is a German survivor of a communist prisoner-of-war concentration camp during World War II. Following her escape from that camp, she began a legacy of fighting for the right to life for all human beings. “The first time I realized there were abortion clinics in our country was in 1988,” she said , according to a previous Live Action News report. “I said to my husband, ‘these are the death camps of America.’ I saw people sitting in front of abortion clinics in Atlanta, and I’ve been involved ever since.” She explains on her website that the pro-life movement must be bolde

Rep. Cori Bush: I Told the Abortion Doctor to Stop the Abortion, and They 'Ignored Me'

By Michael Foust - Posted at Christian Headlines : Democratic Rep. Cori Bush reveals in a new book that a doctor performed an abortion on her against her will after she had made an appointment and changed her mind. Bush, a U.S. representative from Missouri, discusses the traumatic moment in her new book, The Forerunner: A Story of Pain and Perseverance in America. Having undergone one abortion, she says she falsely believed she was emotionally prepared for a second abortion. "I was thinking back to the first abortion – 'Okay, you've done this before, you know the rooms, you know what it looks like, you know what it feels like in this place.'… I thought I was ready," she told host Margeret Hoover in an episode of PBS' Firing Line. FBI charges multiple individuals for peaceful protests at abortion facility

Posted at LiveAction: In early March of 2021, a group of individuals committed to saving the lives of preborn children visited the Carafem abortion facility in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, as part of a “rescue” — an event meant to reach women seeking abortion, to persuade them to choose life for their preborn children instead. Today, October 5, 2022, that event of more than a year ago culminated in a visit from the FBI to at least one of the activist’s homes. Other individuals, who either participated or were merely present at the facility that day, were ordered to report to their local authorities to be charged under the federal FACE ( Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances ) Act along with charges of conspiracy. The event in March 2021 was reportedly peaceful, with participants lining the inside hallway of a shared general medical office building which, in one area, houses the Carafem abortion facility. The rescuers who were gathered that day prayed and sang, and the event was nonviolent.

Heads up IL and surrounding states: 'Planned Parenthood mobile clinic will take abortion to red-state borders'

By Sarah McCammon - Posted at NPR: With a growing number of patients in states that now prohibit abortion traveling for the procedure , Planned Parenthood says it will soon open its first mobile abortion clinic in the country, in southern Illinois. "Our goal is to reduce the hundreds of miles that people are having to travel now in order to access care...and meet them where they are," said Yamelsie Rodriguez, President of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri, said in an interview with NPR. The mobile clinic will begin offering consultations and dispensing abortion pills later this year. It will operate within Illinois, where abortion remains legal , but will be able to travel closer to neighboring states' borders, reducing the distance many patients travel for the procedure. The Satanic Temple Calls Indiana's Near-Total Abortion Ban a Violation of Religious Freedom in New Lawsuit

By Milton Quintanilla - Posted at Christian Headlines: "When a member of TST has an unwanted pregnancy, she exercises her religious beliefs as expressions of Tenets III and V by engaging in the Satanic Abortion Ritual," the lawsuit states. "The Indiana Abortion Ban effectively prohibits the exercise of the Satanic Abortion Ritual." The Satanic Temple filed a lawsuit against the state of Indiana last week over its near-total abortion ban, arguing that it violates religious freedom. According to Faithwire , the new law restricts abortion but offers exceptions for cases of rape, incest, fetal abnormalities or when the mother's life or health is at risk. W. James MacNaughton, an attorney for The Satanic Temple, argued that women should have control over their bodies during pregnancy. "Because you own, in the property sense, your uterus, then you have the right to control its disposition as a matter of property law," MacNaughton told WISH-TV . MacNaughton&

An Open Letter to Governor Gavin Newsom

By Pastor John MacArthur - Posted at The following is an open letter from Pastor John MacArthur to Governor Gavin Newsom, in response to billboard advertisements placed across the country by Newsom’s campaign shamelessly misquoting Mark 12:31 in support of abortion. View a PDF version of the letter . Governor Gavin Newsom 1021 O Street, Suite 9000 Sacramento, CA 95814 September 29, 2022 Sir, Almighty God says in His Word, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people” ( Proverbs 14:3 ). Scripture also teaches that it is the chief duty of any civic leader to reward those who do well and to punish evildoers ( Romans 13:1–7 ). You have not only failed in that responsibility; you routinely turn it on its head, rewarding evildoers and punishing the righteous. The Word of God pronounces judgment on those who call evil good and good evil ( Isaiah 5:20 ), and yet many of your policies reflect this unholy, upside-down view of honor and morality. The dia

Planned Parenthood’s New Revenue Stream Is Not a New Direction

By John Stonestreet and Shane Morris - Posted at Breakpoint : The Planned Parenthood organization has been built, from its founding, on destruction of lives, especially preborn ones. Now, even as legalities and access shift in the wake of the Dobbs decision, America’s largest provider and promoter of abortion has added another revenue stream. This one also promises to destroy lives, albeit in a new and subtler way. This one also promises to help women but is, in actuality, built on ideas that deny the existence of women. A new documentary from the Center for Bioethics and Culture tells the stories of three young women who believed they were not women and that they could become young men, only to regret it. The Detransition Diaries: Saving Our Sisters chronicles the experiences of Cat Cattinson, Helena Kerschner, and Grace Lidinsky-Smith, two of whom received hormone therapy at Planned Parenthood clinics. Though activists and media outlets pretend they do not exist, these are just thr

'Babies in the Womb': NBC's Today Surprises Pro-Lifers with 3D Ultrasound Story

By Michael Foust - Posted at Christian Headlines: Published September 23, 2022 Pro-lifers on Thursday applauded NBC's Today Show for the images and baby-centric language used in a story about a 3D ultrasound but also questioned why such language is not used when the topic switches to abortion. The Today story spotlighted new United Kingdom research that examined how "babies in the womb react" to different flavors their mom ingested," host Sheinelle Jones said. These images from researchers show that babies in the womb can possibly react to flavor. — TODAY (@TODAYshow) September 22, 2022 Pictures of babies from the 3D ultrasound were displayed for the audience. In one sequence, the audience saw two photos of the same baby – one while resting and the other after the mom ate carrots. "Do you see how he smiles?" Jones asked, referencing the baby. In another sequence, two photos were displayed – one of the baby resting and the other

South Carolina Senators reject a near-total abortion ban

By Jeffrey Collins (Associated Press) - Posted at  Published September 8, 2022 COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina senators rejected a ban on almost all abortions Thursday in a special session called in the aftermath of the U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade . Although Republicans had a majority of votes to pass the ban, Republican Sen. Tom Davis threatened to filibuster and proponents of the ban could not get the extra votes to stop him. Davis, the chief of staff for former Gov. Mark Sanford before being elected to the Senate in 2009, was joined by the three Republican women in the Senate, a fifth GOP colleague and all the chamber’s Democrats to oppose the proposed ban. US court: ‘Pro-life churches do not have to fund abortions’

Posted at The Christian Institute: California cannot require churches which believe in the sanctity of life to provide health insurance cover for abortions, a federal court has ruled. District Chief Judge Kimberly Mueller declared that it was unconstitutional for the State to deny churches an exemption on the grounds of religious belief from ‘elective abortion coverage’ for their employees. The case was brought by three churches which all believe that human life “is sacred and worthy of protection from conception”. Read more here.

Answering Pro-abortion Arguments: What About Fetal Disability and Death?

By Stacia McKeever - Posted at Answers in Genesis: How should pro-life people think about disabled and dying babies? I'm pro-Becky who found out at her 20-week anatomy scan that the infant she had been so excited to bring into this world had developed without life-sustaining organs. I was recently discussing the Dobbs decision with a friend who claimed she was pro-life but then suddenly flipped when she began to see the hyperbolic rhetoric by the pro-abortion camp. She sent me an emotional video featuring the testimony of a woman who had been pregnant with a baby whose organs were not developing properly. The lady chose to have her baby aborted (sadly, killed, in reality) rather than allowing her baby’s life to continue. It was a truly heart-breaking testimony and yet another reminder that we live in a world groaning under the weight of the curse. “Stacia,” my friend wrote. “Put yourself in this lady’s shoes—what if this were Kieran’s child? How would you feel? What would you do?

In Canada, Euthanasia for “Mature” Minors?

By John Stonestreet and Kasey Leander - Posted at Breakpoint: In 2016, Canada legalized euthanasia through the euphemistically titled Medical Aid in Dying (or MAiD). Since passing, the number of Canadians who either “enthusiastically” or “cautiously” support the practice has risen slightly from 75% to 80%. The response from communities representing those with disabilities, however, has remained consistently opposed. Their fears, that Canada’s end-of-life policies would prove to be only the cliff edge of a moral abyss, have proven to be largely accurate.  As Maria Cheng of the Associated Press has reported, Canada “arguably has the most permissive euthanasia rules [in the world.]” Just last year, over 10,000 lives were legally taken, an increase of a third from the year before. Patients can request aid in dying without informing family members and for any reason, including, beginning in 2023, mental health issues and not just physical suffering. Doctors, as well as nurse practitione

Nazis And Eugenics Brought Us Chemical Abortion: Here’s Proof

By Rachel Schroder - Posted at The Federalist: Eugenic leaders laid the groundwork for today’s abortion industry, the majority of which in the U.S. is conducted through chemical abortion. Chemical abortion is the backup plan of the abortion industry post-Roe, but it shields a ghastly history. The demand for this dangerous drug is rising in the U.S. despite its four times higher complication rate than surgical abortion and a jaw-dropping reality: the chemical abortion drug is connected to Nazi Germany. The affiliates of those who killed innocent children in the Holocaust introduced to our county the drug that is today killing innocent preborn children and numerous mothers. Pro-life activists often argue that the dehumanization of Jews by the Nazis and the dehumanization of the preborn by the abortion industry are philosophically similar phenomena. Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger was a relentless racist . However, few know the true historical relationship between the Nazi

California Amendment Would Create Right to Kill Babies in Abortions Up to Birth

By Micaiah Bilger - Posted at Life News : California is in danger of passing a radical pro-abortion measure that would enshrine the “right” to abort an unborn baby for any reason through all nine months of pregnancy into its state constitution. The pro-abortion amendment, Proposition 1, will be on the November ballot for voters’ consideration after the state legislature passed it in June . A new poll from the University of California Berkeley shows it passing by a strong majority – likely because voters do not understand just how radical it is. According to the Daily Kos , the poll found massive support for the amendment, with 71 percent of voters planning to vote “yes” and 18 percent planning to vote “no.” If it passes, pro-life leaders warn that California will become like North Korea and China where late-term abortions are legal even when the mother’s health is not in danger and the baby is viable and healthy. The Christian Institute: Archie Battersbee

Published August 12, 2022  The Christian Institute has not been involved in the tragic case of Archie Battersbee. We can only reflect on what is in the court judgments, media coverage and other comment in the public domain. Archie was found unconscious and not breathing by his mother on 7 April 2022. He was rushed to hospital, where he received further medical attention, but never regained consciousness. After a legal battle, in which Archie’s family were supported by the Christian Legal Centre, his life support was removed on 6 August. First and foremost, we extend our sympathy to Archie’s family. They have been through a harrowing ordeal, and we pray that they will know God to be the Father of compassion and God of all comfort. The case was highly complex. There were numerous court hearings over several months, and reams of medical evidence. One thing was clear: trust between the family and key medical staff sadly broke down. God works good out of bad from pregnancy center attacks – Communities step up

By Patty Knap - Posted at Pregnancy Help News: What good could possibly come out of the ongoing pro-abortion attacks on life-saving pregnancy help centers? It might be hard to imagine, but often the response to the hatred, vandalism, fire bombing, spray painting, glass breaking, and false claims about pregnancy centers in recent months has had a positive element. Pregnancy Help News reached out to some centers targeted by these attacks to find out what response they've seen from their local communities. What’s been happening has been nothing short of inspiring as communities across the U.S. have come forth to support pregnancy help centers. In Asheville, N.C., Mountain Area Pregnancy Services was attacked on June 7. The phone there hadn't stopped ringing with offers of help in the subsequent weeks. "From the morning of the attack, our center has received hundreds of phone calls from individuals, churches & businesses asking if we needed help cleaning up," said Kr
