YouTube Removes Pro-life Titles From Top “Abortion” Video Searches

Image Source: The New American By Dave Bohon - Posted at The New American : YouTube appears to have cleaned out pro-life videos from the top choices under the search word “abortion.” What’s more, a writer for the left-leaning Slate.com suggested that she was responsible for the change. April Glaser, identified as a Slate technology reporter, wrote that “before I raised the issue with YouTube ... the top search results for ‘abortion’ on the site were almost all anti-abortion” — meaning they were pro-life in perspective. One of the previously top-ranking titles apparently unranked through Glaser’s efforts is called “ LIVE Abortion Video on Display ,” which is nothing less than a horrifyingly true video representation of what happens when a pre-born baby’s life is ended through abortion. While the graphic nature of the two-minute video prevented Glaser from challenging the veracity of its deeply disturbing content, she claimed that many other top-ranking pro-life videos she viewed

Forced Abortions Continue Under China’s "Relaxed" Family Planning Policies

People's Republic of China - Wikipedia By Dave Bohon - Posted at The New American: Despite reports earlier this year that China was poised to end its notorious family planning policies, the communist government appears to be continuing to force abortion on women who have more children than officially allowed. According to National Public Radio (NPR) and the pro-life group Women’s Rights Without Frontiers (WRWF), the Chinese government recently coerced an ethnic Kazakh woman with two children living in Kazakhstan with her new husband to return to China, where she had previously lived, and then forcibly aborted her third child under China’s two-child policy. As reported by WRWF, the woman, whose first husband died in China in 2015, married a Kazakh citizen living in Kazakhstan across the border in the summer of 2018. But she was informed by the Chinese government that she had to return with her two children to China in order to cancel her Chinese citizenship and become a cit

US birth rates drop sharply, may plummet to lowest levels ever: Report

By Brandon Showalter - Posted at the Christian Post : New research reveals that fertility rates in the United States have declined significantly and could fall to their lowest rates ever. The study , "Declining Fertility in America," which was released this week by the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank in Washington, D.C., shows that birth rates have fallen in America to one of the lowest recorded levels of population growth, and could drop even further to record low levels. "This decline is led by falling birth rates for women under 30, but in recent years, even women in their 30s have seen falling birth rates. These declines will almost certainly result in millennial women ultimately having fewer children than previous generations had," the report's author, Lyman Stone, explains in the executive summary. Roberts, Kavanaugh Join Liberal Supreme Court Justices in Rejection of Planned Parenthood Defunding Cases

By Heather Clark - Posted at Christian News Network: WASHINGTON — U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and newly-appointed Justice Brett Kavanaugh joined the liberal judges on the nation’s highest court on Monday to turn down appeals from two states challenging lower court rulings striking down efforts to defund Planned Parenthood’s participation in state Medicaid programs. Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch were the only three of the nine judges who dissented with the decision not to hear the cases of Gee v. Planned Parenthood (out of Louisiana ) and Anderson v. Planned Parenthood ( out of Kansas ). Four votes are needed to hear a case. 13 states had joined Louisiana and Kansas in amicus briefs, urging the Supreme Court to hear the appeals. Supportive states included Georgia, Idaho, Missouri, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, West Virginia, Wyoming, Utah and Wisconsin. “The circuits are divided over whether Medicaid beneficiaries have a privat

Former Planned Parenthood manager says evangelical church saved her life

By Samuel Smith - Posted at the Christian Post : A former Planned Parenthood clinic manager says that joining a small nondenominational evangelical church “saved her life” and helped equip her to leave the nation’s largest abortion provider. Sue Thayer, a Christian mother of five, worked nearly 18 years as nonmedical staff with Planned Parenthood of the Heartland in Iowa before she was fired for voicing her objection to the business' attempt to institute “webcam abortions” at her clinic. Thayer began working at Planned Parenthood in 1991, thinking that she'd be “helping women,” she said in an interview with The Christian Post. The pay was great, and within a month of working there, she was sent to train at an abortion unit. Read more here.

The FAQs: New Government Rules Protect Conscience Rights in Health Insurance

By Joe Carter - Posted at The Gospel Coalition : What just happened? Earlier this week the Trump administration released two final rules to provide conscience protections for Americans who have a religious or moral objection to health insurance that covers contraception or abortifacients. The new rules—one religious-based exemption and one moral-based exemption—provide broad protections for individuals, organizations, and businesses that opposed the Obama administration’s contraceptive-abortifacient mandate because of their religious or moral beliefs. What exactly is this contraceptive-abortifacient mandate? Under the Affordable Care Act (often referred to as “Obamacare”), employer-provided health insurance plans are required to cover certain “preventative services”—which were defined through guidance by the Obama administration as including all contraception methods approved by the Food and Drug Administration, including abortifacients and sterilization procedures. A Not-So-Political Post

Posted at The Morning Center : One of the following things is true about you: You haven’t been on Facebook or Twitter AND you haven’t turned on a TV or radio in the last six months.  You’re aware there’s an election coming up next month. Since you’re reading a blog post, I’m going to assume you’re in group #2. Elections can be fun and crazy. Even when there’s no Presidential candidates at the top of the ticket the even year elections can cause quite a frenzy on social media and at dinner parties. People have a lot of passion about their candidates and issues and sometimes we find the conversations descending into arguments faster than a Ferarri gets to 60 MPH from a standstill. Because of that, you may be tired of talk of the election. You may be telling Facebook “show me more” of the cute baby and cat pictures while muting some of your friends on Twitter for the next 30 days. And you’re here, reading this post and thinking, “what have I gotten myself into now?” I don’t

Alabama Supreme Court Upholds Personhood of Unborn Babies; Calls for End of Roe v. Wade

By Michael Gryboski - Posted at The Christian Post : Alabama's highest court has recently released a decision that recognizes the personhood of unborn babies, and includes a concurrent opinion that calls for the overturning of Roe v. Wade. In the case of Jessie Livell Phillips v. State of Alabama , the Alabama Supreme Court upheld a murder conviction for a man who in 2009 killed his pregnant wife and their unborn child in a ruling released last week. Justice Michael Bolin, author of the court opinion, said in the ruling that since one of the victims of the 2009 homicide was an unborn baby, he felt an obligation to "expound" on why the court considered an unborn baby a "person." "... under the criminal laws of the state of Alabama, the value of the life of an unborn child is no less than the value of the lives of other persons. The trial court's additional commentary that this country is founded upon equal protection and due process for all

‘I’ve Picked Up Fetuses’: Former Stericycle Driver Confirms Medical Waste Giant’s Disposal of Aborted Babies

By Heather Clark - Posted at Christian News Network : A former driver for America’s largest medical waste company, Stericycle, confirmed in a recent interview with a pro-life organization that the entity does indeed dispose of the bodies of aborted babies despite the company’s claim that it does not, advising that he has personally witnessed workers at an abortion facility drop dead babies and baby parts into a medical waste container before handing it off to him for disposal. A video recently released by the Ohio-based group Created Equal provides audio footage of the driver, whose anonymity was maintained, outlining that he became concerned that he was hearing one thing from company representatives while seeing another on the job. “The most disturbing thing for me is [that] in that compliance meeting, this manager, he’s saying, ‘We do not haul fetuses. We don’t haul heads. We don’t haul torsos,'” the man explained. “[But] I have firsthand been into that clinic. I saw t

The Most Important Movie You’ve Never Heard Of

Earl Billings as Dr. Kermit Gosnell ( Hat Tip Films LLC) By Michelle Malkin - Posted at National Review : In 2013, Gosnell was convicted of murdering three babies born alive in his death factory and found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of 41-year-old Bhutanese refugee Karnamaya Mongar, who died of an inhumanely administered drug overdose at Gosnell’s “Women’s Medical Society.” Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer opens Friday. It’s here. Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer debuts in theaters nationwide on October 12. I do believe this groundbreaking film by indie producers Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney is the most important movie in America right now — a true-life saga of good vs. evil, deadly medical malpractice, systemic government malfeasance, and cultural apathy toward the most vulnerable members of our society. I first reported on this real-life horror story nearly eight years ago, but you’ve probably not heard or

My Story – There IS Beauty for Ashes

By Katherine Marple - Posted at KeepLifeLegal : I was on my way to the abortion clinic with my mom. It’s been so long ago that I don’t remember the day of the week or what month it was; but I do remember that is was 1978. Isaiah 61:3 says, …..‘To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.’ When I found out I was pregnant, my mother told me that under no uncertain terms was I going to have a baby and live in her house. My grandmother (who lived with us) wouldn’t look at me. You’re smarter than this, they said. So I left. There’s not a lot of places a pregnant 17 year old girl can go who doesn’t have a job or a car. I ended up at my aunt’s house. I knew she would be empathetic because she loved children and had many of them. She might be able to talk my mother out of t

FDA shock: Abortion pill caused 22 deaths and a thousand hospitalizations

By Carole Novielli - Posted at Live Action News : At least 22 women have died after taking the abortion pill regimen, RU-486, and many others have experienced serious complications, according to updated data from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). While abortion — and specifically, medication abortion — is sold to women as “safe,” there can be serious and life threatening complications from the abortion pill, as noted by the pills’ manufacturer, Danco. Although Danco is required to report any death associated with Mifeprex, women experiencing complications, various factors — such as not returning to the abortion provider or not reporting use of the drug to emergency personnel — may cause these numbers to seem lower than they actually are. The abortion lobby is pushing for easy access to the abortion pill on college campuses and some are even calling for it to be approved for home use. No doubt, we may never know how many women suffer serious complications or succumb to deat

The Odds of a Cell Forming Randomly by Chance Alone

By Mark Goodnight - Posted at Cyber Penance : My previous blog, DNA Points to Design , was about some fascinating information about DNA. Scientists have also determined another factor in how incredibly fine-tuned even a cell is. Stephen Meyer, in chapter 9 of his book Signature in the Cell: DNA and the Evidence for Intelligent Design , entitled Odds and Ends, talks about the odds of a minimally complex cell coming into existence. As I have said elsewhere on this site, I’m a math guy, so when I read numbers, it really puts it in perspective for me. (I should note that Dr. Meyer’s book is actually very easy to read for the layperson (i.e. generally speaking, you and me), and covers the entire history of the scientific discovery of DNA and the cell, as well as his own inquiries and research into it.) On pg 205, he talks about how even a relatively short protein, of which cells are made of, in the range of “say, 150 amino acids”, that there are approximately 10^195 possible combinatio

Is the Battle for Stem Cells Over?

Human embryonic stem cells in cell culture - Wikipedia By Dr. Nathaniel T. Jeanson - Posted at Answers in Genesis : We haven’t heard much about stem cells lately. Why? The ethical use of human stem cells sparked an intense debate nearly 20 years ago. Since life and death were on the table, it’s no surprise that loud opinions and strong passions raged. The fires of controversy even reached the highest political office when, in 2001, pro-life President Bush restricted the use of federal funds for human embryonic stem cell research. Since then, the controversy has cooled and almost subsided. But not for the reasons you might expect. I’ve observed this debate closely, both as a lifelong pro-lifer and as a stem cell researcher, and I’ve been surprised at the trajectory this dispute has taken. Steadily but nearly imperceptibly, advocates of human embryonic stem cell research have effectively moved closer to the pro-life position. However, their shift has not been for reasons that pro

PPFA names new president but aura of scandal remains

Planned Parenthood has named Dr. Leana Wen as its new president but continues to carry its scandal-plagued reputation as the country's No. 1 abortion provider. Screen capture from YouTube By Tom Strode - Posted at Baptist Press: WASHINGTON (BP) -- Planned Parenthood has a doctor as its new president but continues to carry its scandal-plagued reputation as the country's No. 1 abortion provider. Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) announced Wednesday (Sept. 12) the selection of Leana Wen as the sixth president in its century-long history. Wen has been health commissioner of the city of Baltimore for the last 3 1/2 years and becomes the first physician to head the organization in nearly 50 years. Wen, who succeeds Cecile Richards after her 12-year tenure, takes over Planned Parenthood three years after undercover videos were first released that provided evidence the organization was trading in body parts from aborted babies. Prior to Roe, Abortion Legalization by State (1960’s and 1970’s)

Researched by Carole Novielli - Posted at  Saynsumthn's Blog: Prior to the infamous Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that forced abortion on the nation, abortion was illegal in a majority of states, except to save the life of the mother. At that time the decriminalization of abortion was left up to states to decide. Laws legalizing abortions by state began in the late 1960’s as follows: 1966: Mississippi allows abortion for rape In 1966, Mississippi altered its existing abortion law by adding rape as an indication for hospital abortion, according to the CDC’s first abortion surveillance report in 1969. 1967: Colorado becomes first state to decriminalize abortion further, followed by North Carolina and California On April 25, 1967, Colorado became the first state in the U.S. to decriminalize abortion, along the lines proposed by the American Law Institute (ALI.) The bill was introduced by then Representative Richard D. Lamm. According to the Associated Press : “On Ap

ABORTION AND GOVERNOR ANDREW CUOMO

Gov. Andrew Cuomo - Source: Wikipedia Posted at Mann's Word : New York Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced a new “public awareness” campaign to promote abortion centers and to expose pro-life “misinformation.” "While the federal government wages war on women's reproductive rights, New York will fight back to protect women's access to comprehensive, safe and affordable health care," Cuomo declared. "In New York, we refuse to let President Trump and Washington take us backwards and jeopardize the rights of New Yorkers. We are launching this public awareness campaign to combat the insidious spread of misleading, medically inaccurate information about reproductive health and to ensure all New York women know the options they are legally entitled to." Hmm? I hadn’t realized that the Fed had been waging a war on woman’s reproductive rights. As far as I was aware, women can still buy pregnancy blocking drugs, devices, and services. Planned Parenthood Sues South Carolina to Restore Funding; Pro-life Governor Vows to Fight

By Brandon Showalter - Posted at the Christian Post: Planned Parenthood is suing South Carolina in an attempt to restore funding from the state's Medicaid program that the state's governor recently cut through an executive order. Governor Henry McMaster, R-S.C., stripped abortion providers of over $15 million in tax dollars in the latest state budget earlier this month through use of his line-item veto. Of that $15 million, $100,000 would have been for Planned Parenthood centers, LifeSiteNews reported Monday. McMaster also signed an executive order that disqualified abortion facilities from being Medicaid providers. "I have stated many times I am opposed to what Planned Parenthood is doing. And the veto I have is the most direct way," McMaster explained. "There are a variety of agencies, clinics, and medical entities in South Carolina that receive taxpayer funding to offer important women's health and family planning services without offering abor

Pastoral Q & A: The Morning After Pill

By Wes Bredenhof - Posted at YINKAHDINAY : Can a Christian woman use the “Morning After Pill” as emergency contraception? Let’s first be clear what we’re talking about. The “Morning After Pill” is often marketed under the name “Plan B,” though there are other drugs and brands. This is not RU-486 (mifepristone), a drug that causes abortion typically later in pregnancy. The MAP is regarded as a form of emergency contraception — it’s for when other ways of preventing a pregnancy have either failed or been neglected. The question is whether this is something Christian women can take advantage of. To answer that, let’s imagine two scenarios. Scenario 1 A young unmarried woman has been having sex with her boyfriend. On one occasion, they forget to use their normal method of contraception. She’s concerned that she may get pregnant, so she goes to the pharmacy for “Plan B.” She takes the tablets and does not become pregnant. Scenario 2 A woman in her 30s (with four c

Get the facts: Thousands of women weren’t dying from abortion before Roe v. Wade

By Carole Novielli - Posted at Live Action : In the days leading up to the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion in America, pro-choice advocates claimed hundreds of thousands of women had died from illegal abortions. Because of this, several lawmakers voted to decriminalize abortion prior to Roe, and even today, some lawmakers are hesitant to outlaw it because of this lie. These statistics were invented by the same people who would profit from the procedure’s legalization. False Claim #1: 5,000-10,000 women died annual from illegal abortion before Roe. FACT: These statistics were made up. The real number was a mere fraction of this. Abortionist Bernard Nathanson admitted that he and others fabricated large numbers of deaths from illegal terminations prior to Roe. Nathanson and Larry Lader, a Margaret Sanger biographer, worked to decriminalize abortion laws. Together, they and others founded NARAL (then known as the National Association for the Repeal

The pro-choice language pro-lifers need to drop

By Aaron Wilson - Posted at Baptist Press : NASHVILLE (BP) -- "Have I really been sending mixed messages about when life begins?" Mary asked herself as she drove home from her coworker's baby shower. Mary looked at her two kids through the rearview mirror and remembered the "Repeal Roe v. Wade" bumper sticker she had displayed on the back of her minivan. Mary bit her lip and continued to mull over a comment a pro-life friend had made at the shower. "I wish Christians would stop using 'parent-to-be' labels," Mary's friend had whispered as a "mommy-to-be" sash was draped over the guest of honor. "It sends such a poor message about life in the womb." Mary had never thought of this before. She considered herself to be as pro-life as they come, but she also knew she'd used the terms "mommy-to-be" and "daddy-to-be" at baby showers, gender-reveal parties, and in celebratory comments for ultra

Trump Supreme Court Nominee Kavanaugh on Abortion: ‘I Would Follow Roe v. Wade Faithfully and Fully’

Judge Brett Kavanaugh - Wikipedia By Heather Clark - Posted at Christian News Network : Trump U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, who has served on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals for the past 12 years, once stated during his confirmation hearing that he would “follow Roe v. Wade faithfully and fully” as it is “binding precedent.” He had been asked by Sen. Chuck Schumer during the 2006 hearing if he believes Roe v. Wade is “an abomination.” “On the question of Roe v. Wade, if confirmed to the D.C. Circuit, I would follow Roe v. Wade faithfully and fully. That would be the binding precedent of the court,” Kavanaugh replied. “It’s been decided by the Supreme Court.” Continue reading and view video here...

5,500 Women Hospitalized Every Year After Suffering Complications From Abortion: Study

By Samuel Smith - Posted at The Christian Post : A new study released earlier this month has found that an average of 5,500 women are sent to emergency rooms each year in the United States because of complications related to abortion procedures. Yet, some researchers still claim that there isn't enough basis to show that health and safety regulations on abortion clinics will have a beneficial impact. The study , which was led by Ushma D. Upadhyay , a professor at the University of California-San Francisco's Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Science — who has opposed state regulations on abortion clinics — indicates that there were at least 27,941 women who ended up in an emergency room after receiving abortions between 2009 to 2013. THERE IS NO CHRISTIAN ARGUMENT AGAINST OVERTURNING ROE V WADE

By Samuel D. James - Posted at Letter & Liturgy : The news that Supreme Court justice Anthony Kennedy will retire next month has immediately conjured up images of a pro-life judge’s taking his place and becoming the crucial fifth piece to strike down Roe v. Wade, the Court’s 1973 affirmation of a universal right to abortion. For pro-life activists and observers, this is a historic opportunity to challenge the bloodiest injustice in America for the past 50 years. While overturning Roe would not itself criminalize abortion, it would blow away the barrier against state-based laws and almost certainly result in at least 20 states outlawing abortion in most circumstances. All it takes is five justices to intervene on behalf of the lives of millions of unborn Americans. It is very close. It is close because Donald Trump won an astonishing election the same year that Justice Antonin Scalia astonishingly died, denying the Democratic Party an opportunity to solidify Roe via President

Abortionist Robert Rho Sentenced to Prison for Killing Woman During Botched Late-Term Abortion

Source: Operation Rescue By Cheryl Sullenger - Posted at Operation Rescue: Queens, NY — Abortionist Robert Rho, who pleaded guilty last month to Criminal Negligent Homicide for causing the death of Jaime Morales, 30, during a botched second trimester abortion, was sentenced yesterday to serve fifteen months to four years in state prison. Over Rho’s 23-year career as an abortionist, he committed an estimated 40,000 abortions, according to his attorney Jeff Lichtman. But Rho was known to cut corners on abortion procedures to save time and money. His short-cuts proved fatal for Jaime Morales when she visited Rho on July 9, 2016. Rho conducted an abortion on Morales’ 26-week baby in just one day instead of the recommended 2-3 days. Because of this, he inflicted serious internal injuries on Morales, including a perforated uterus and lacerated cervix, uterine artery, and vagina. Continue reading...

California moves closer to mandating on-campus abortion services

By Grace Gottschling - Posted at Campus Reform : California moved one step closer to passing a bill that would require public university health centers across the state to provide on-campus medicated abortion services. The measure has already passed the State Senate, and after passing the Assembly Health Committee, has only one committee left to face before proceeding to the Assembly floor. Forty students from 14 universities lobbied the California Assembly Monday in support of a bill that would require public university health centers to provide abortion services. SB 320 , proposed last year by State Senator Connie Leyva, would force all public colleges in California with health centers to supply non-surgical, medication abortions to students by 2022. Abortifacient medication, used in early term, non surgical abortions, is utilized to terminate a pregnancy within the first 10 weeks of gestation. Continue reading...

High court affirms pregnancy centers' speech rights

By Tom Strode - Posted at Baptist Press: WASHINGTON (BP) -- The U.S. Supreme Court delivered a key free-speech victory for pro-life pregnancy centers today (June 26) by a 5-4 vote. The high court reversed a lower court decision regarding a California law that, in part, essentially requires pregnancy care centers to promote abortion services. The justices ruled the pregnancy centers that challenged the measure would likely succeed in their assertion it violates the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and returned the case to a federal court for reconsideration in light of their opinion. The two-part law in question -- California's 2015 Reproductive FACT Act -- requires licensed pregnancy centers to post a notice for or otherwise inform clients in writing of the state's free or low-cost access to abortion and other family planning services. The law also mandates unlicensed centers to provide a notice they are not licensed medically and do not have a licensed medical pr

Indiana Republicans Approve Platform Language Affirming Right to Life From Conception

By Heather Clark - Posted at Christian News Network: INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Delegates for Saturday’s GOP convention in the state of Indiana voted to approve party platform language affirming the constitutional right to life “from conception to natural death,” which “cannot be infringed.” “We believe in the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death, and that the U.S. Constitution’s guarantee that no one can ‘be deprived of life, liberty or property’ deliberately echoes the proclamation made in the Declaration of Independence that ‘all’ are ‘endowed by their Creator’ with the inalienable right to life,” the platform reads.  “Accordingly, we assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental right to life which cannot be infringed.” Continue reading...
